I went to high school with a kid who started off a geography speech with a line from "If" by Rudyard Kipling. Well smart arse, I have my own blog now!

It's said that many of the things that we take for granted today had their beginnings decades ago in science fiction. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's at least one technology out there that proves my rule. Babel Fish is another. In The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, the Babel fish was a fish that went into your ear and translated all of the galaxy's languages into your own.

Altavista's Babel Fish is a service that translates text from one language into another, and it's pretty shit at it. Sometimes when I was bored in my old job, I would use it to translate mundane text multiple times with hilarious results. I will now replicate my findings for your eEnjoyment.

Here's a universal truth.

from English: Nick is your god. You must bow before him.
to Spanish: La mella es su dios. Usted debe arquear antes de él.
